⚙️ Setup Required
The email automation functions have been created. To make them run automatically, you need to set up a cron job service to call these endpoints daily.
7-Day Warning Emails
Sent 1 week before ad expires
Function:
sendClassifiedExpiryWarningsWhat it does:
- Finds ads expiring in exactly 7 days
- Sends warning email to poster
- Includes ad details and expiration date
- Reminds them to post again if needed
Thank You Emails
Sent when ad expires
Function:
processExpiredClassifiedsWhat it does:
- Finds ads that expired today
- Updates status to "expired"
- Sends thank you email
- Encourages posting another ad
🔧 How to Set Up Automation
Use a cron job service to call these endpoints daily
Recommended: cron-job.org
- Go to cron-job.org and create a free account
- Create a new cron job for each function endpoint
- Set schedule to run daily (e.g., 9:00 AM)
- Add the function URLs from your dashboard
